Las Vegas owes its growth to the 1931 construction of the Hoover Dam. Even prior to the legalization of gambling in 1931, the workers from the dam found their entertainment and illegal gambling in Las Vegas. Now, the world seems to Las Vegas to gamble legally and enjoy a huge variety of entertainment options. Strolling along the strip is an adventure. The Bellagio fountain will dance; the volcano will erupt at the Mirage. Statues come to life at Caesar’s Palace, and Las Vegas even has its own Eiffel Tower.

Visitors will discover pinball machines and nothing but pinball machines in the nearly 10,000-square-foot Pinball Hall of Fame. The museum is presented by the Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club, and it is where members display the world’s largest collection of machines dating back to the 1950s through the 1990s. Excess revenue received from this hall of fame goes to non-denominational charities.

The Rainbow Feather Dyeing Company is located in the arts district of Las Vegas. This is the store where Cirque de Soleil buys their feathers and Hawaiians get their leis. This store is the perfect place for women to buy boas to match every item of clothing in their wardrobe.
Closet geeks and not-so closet geeks in Vegas can find what they’re looking for at Alternate Reality Comics. This store has plenty of underworld and superhero comics, nerdy t-shirts, and collectibles.
For the High Rollers
No, not gamblers. Las Vegas is home to the High Roller. The 550-foot-tall, 520 foot in diameter Ferris wheel is currently the world’s tallest observation wheel. Each of the twenty-eight cabins on this fascinating ride can hold up to forty people. One full revolution of the wheel lasts for thirty minutes, giving those taking the ride time to enjoy the skyline of Vegas and beyond.
